Marcel
Ophüls,
|
In November Days, the film-maker
and journalist Marcel Ophüls examines the first steps
taken at the end of 1989 towards the dismantling of East
Germany as a political entity. He goes in search of the
people who, on November the 9th, stood in front of the cameras
ecstatic about the/their liberation. In this film, made a
year later, Ophüls interviews them and sounds out the
impact "The Event" has had on their lives. The
result is a non-stop shuffle between past and present in
a kaleidoscope of interviews, news pictures, film
fragments and street recordings.
