Heintje, lonely and sad and with divorced parents, runs away during a school outing. He goes looking for his father, who is now a famous racing driver. Father wins on the Nuremburg Circuit, the parents are reconciled and the Don Kozzaken Choir sings along. Heintje, the child star, is an economic miracle in himself : having grown up in Limburg on the border between two European cultures, it is chiefly the modernity of the American civilization that he propagates. Continually on the move, as the first genuine "Eurocitizen" he sings his way through his untroubled life in the idyllic society of the seventies.
